The PADEP is notifying registered Underground Storage Tank Owners that they must perform an inspection of their system. The 1989 Storage Tank and Spill Prevention Act requires that operation inspections be conducted at all registered storage tank facilities.
Underground Storage Tank Systems must be inspected by a PADEP Certified UST inspector.

What will be inspected?
The inspection will include five components:
(1) Spill and overflow protection,
(2) Corrosion protection,
(3) Vapor recovery
(4) Pumping system
(5) Tank and piping leak detection.
The first step is to schedule an inspection with an RJW PADEP Certified Inspector (IUM Classification) and notify the PADEP Regional office of the inspection. Next you will need to have all your records available for the RJW inspector including Fire Marshall Permits, PADEP registration, Leak Detection Records, Insurance Certificates, any modification or upgrades to the existing system and all testing including tank/piping and if applicable corrosion protection test results.
How long will it take and how much will it cost?
RJW PADEP certified on-site initial inspections average 1.5 hours per tank. RJW prices are $150.00 for the first tank and $90.00 for each additional tank.
